Charter questions.
What the weekly rate includes, when to go, why a broker, and how a booking works.
Booking
Why book through a broker and not direct?
A charter needs knowledge of yachts, crews and places, trusted contacts on board and ashore, and the contracts and local rules that come with it. A broker matches you with the right yacht, crew and destination, handles the contract, and if something goes wrong with a yacht or a destination, protects your interests and arranges a plan B.
How do I arrange a charter?
Tell us what you have in mind, by email or with the preference sheet on this site: the kind of yacht, where, when, and anything you need. We come back with a selection of yachts that fit and help with the rest, from the itinerary to the crew and special requests.
Can the itinerary be made for us?
Yes. A romantic week, a family trip or a company retreat: the route, the stops and the pace follow what you ask for.
Costs
Is a charter all-inclusive?
The weekly rate covers the yacht, her crew and basic services. Food, drinks, excursions and extras such as spa treatments or some water toys are paid from the Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). The captain manages the APA during the charter, and whatever is not spent is returned to you at the end.
Is the crew included?
Yes. Every yacht in the Sunreef Yachts Charter fleet comes with a professional crew, from the captain who navigates to the cook who plans the meals.
What does the price per guest per night on this site mean?
The weekly rate divided by the number of guests and by seven nights. It helps compare yachts of different sizes. It does not include the APA.
Yachts and places
What kinds of yachts can we charter?
Sailing yachts for days under sail, motor yachts with space and toys for families, and catamarans, which most of this fleet is. Sunreef builds most of them; the fleet also includes yachts from other builders.
Where can we charter?
The fleet sails mostly in the Mediterranean in summer and in the Caribbean and the Bahamas in winter, with a few yachts in Southeast Asia, the South Pacific and Australia. The destinations page shows every area and how many yachts list it.
When is the best time to go?
It depends on the region. The Mediterranean is best from May to October. The Caribbean is a year-round destination with its peak season from December to April. Remote areas such as the South Pacific are best in their dry season. Each destination page gives its best months.
What about safety?
The yachts carry current safety equipment, the crews are trained for emergencies, and the yachts follow international maritime safety rules.
How eco-friendly are the yachts?
Sunreef's catamarans are built with energy efficiency in mind, and the crews follow responsible cruising practice to keep the impact low.
